HAR-TRU Court Surfacing

TAKING THE PAIN OUT OF THE GAME.

HAR-TRU's granular surface acts as a shock-absorbing cushion, allowing players to slide into their returns. This prevents the joint-jarring stops all too common on hard surfaces. In fact, studies show that players are seven times less likely to injure themselves on surfaces that allow sliding.

A BETTER BOUNCE, A BETTER GAME.

On a HAR-TRU court, the ball bounces consistently slower than on other surfaces. This results in longer rallies, a greater variety of strokes, a more controlled game. Stamina, strategy and mental toughness all come into play more--it's no coincidence that most of the world's top players got their start on clay.

DRYER IN THE RAIN, COOLER IN THE SUN.

A HAR-TRU court is ready for action in a matter of minutes after a rain shower. Water is absorbed through the surface and into the base, much like a blotter. The slope of the court then allows excess moisture to run off. Since a HAR-TRU court retains moisture and breathes during the hottest days of summer, the surface remains an average of 20% cooler than hard courts.

EASY ON THE EYES, YOUR CLOTHES AND THE ENVIRONMENT.

It's much easier to follow the ball on the non-glare surface of a HAR-TRU court. The natural green HAR-TRU surface won't stain clothing and reduces wear and tear on your tennis equipment. And, because the HAR-TRU court is permeable, it prevents runoff control problems associated with hard, impervious surfaces.

HAR-TRU SERVES YOU WELL.

Other courts may crack and bulge, but a HAR-TRU court can last a lifetime. With proper maintenance, you can avoid the hidden replacement costs common to hard surfaces. That's why club owners, managers and builders recognize the long-term value of a HAR-TRU surface.

THE MASTER STROKES BEHIND A SUPERIOR SURFACE.

To ensure that materials of only the highest quality go into every surface, HAR-TRU surfacing has returned to its original source: a billion-year old Pre-Cambrian metabasalt found in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. This stone is crushed, screened and mixed in precise proportions to produce a stable surface.

Because HAR-TRU can be used for both new court construction or for top dressing. A layer of these finely crushed green particles is installed over a porous base of crushed stone to produce a finished surface. A HAR-TRU court can also be built over existing clay, asphalt or concrete courts.

Every HAR-TRU court is backed by a full complement of engineering and design services, as well as on-site technical consultation. LEE Tennis, the manufacturer of HAR-TRU, also manufactures a full range of court maintenance equipment and accessories--everything you need to build and maintain a HAR-TRU court.
